Comments Needed on National Cultural Policy

The General Public is asked to give feedback and comments to the National Cultural Policy. The document can be found on the Montserrat Tourist Board website on www.visitmontserrat.com and on the Government of Montserrat Website on www.gov.ms.  Copies are also available at the Office of the Premier in Brades and the Montserrat Tourist Board in Little Bay.  Comments should be sent to info@montserrattourism.ms by August 31st 2012.

Volunteers Needed to Manage Festival Social Media Platforms

The Montserrat Festival Committee are looking for internet savvy volunteers to assist with the management of our Official Festival Website, www.montserratfestival.com and related social network platforms; primarily Facebook, Twitter and You Tube.

Volunteers will be required to assist with the following:

  • Updating and placement of editorial content, graphics, and other features on the website
  • Posting relevant Blogs
  • Keeping sites fresh and relevant
  • Helping to generate and implement creative ideas for driving traffic between platforms

We welcome professional and non-professional volunteers. Training will be provided where possible.

The Skin Directors visit ZJB

SWEENEY’S, Montserrat – Writer and Director of The Skin, Howard Allen and his wife and Executive Director Mitzi Allen were at the ZJB Studios this morning to talk about their feature film which opens tonight at the Montserrat Cultural Centre.

Howard who’s father is Montserratian said they are always happy when they can come back to share their work. His wife Mitzi, added that Montserrat was very special to them as it was where they celebrated their honeymoon 19 years ago. They have subsequently returned to screen their movies, The Sweetest Mango and No Seed. Continue reading

ZJB Radio Montserrat to air ECCB Governor’s Report

BRADES, Montserrat – ZJB Radio Montserrat will be transmitting the Annual Report from the Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), Sir K Dwight Venner this Wednesday evening. The presentation will highlight the programmes and projects the Bank has been undertaking to maintain financial stability in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union.

The presentation will be broadcast on radio and television stations in the ECCB member countries[1] at 8 p.m. on Wednesday 29 June.

During the presentation the Governor will also outline the policies and programmes, which the Bank, in collaboration with its member governments, has put in place to enhance the supervision and regulation of the commercial banks. In addition, the Governor will report on the measures that are being put in place to strengthen the regulatory framework governing the operations of the non-bank financial institutions which operate within the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union.
