Government endorsed CTO’s four year strategic plan
Montserrat’s Minister responsible for ICT has endorsed a four year strategic plan for the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organizations CTO.
Communications Minister Paul Lewis did so along with a number of other Commonwealth ICT Ministers at a three day forum which ended on Thursday.
The Strategic Plan has specific focus on ICT regulation, affordable and universal broadband including bridging the digital divide and ICT applications.
National policy on elderly care
A national policy on the care of the elderly will move to the second phase of discussions next month.
This update was given at the Golden Year’s Foundation Eighteenth Annual General Meeting on Wednesday by the Honourable Minister of Health, Delmaude Ryan.
Ryan said that the national policy will provide a legal framework that will be beneficial to the elderly.
Honourable Speaker of the house to attend Queen’s 90th birthday
Montserrat’s Speaker of the House Shirley Osborne was invited to the UK to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday.
Osborne received an invitation to attend the Patron’s lunch on Sunday in her capacity as Vice-Chair of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association…CPA.
The CPA which is 105 years old, is one of the international organizations of which Queen Elizabeth II is the patron.
