St Patrick’s Festival gets thumbs up

FestivalOne of the Organisers of the St. Patrick’s Festival has expressed his satisfaction with the standard of the heritage and cultural event.

Speaking with ZJB News Justin ‘Hero’ Cassell says St. Patrick’s Week of Activities has gathered momentum and he hopes this energy can continue for future festivals.

The St. Patrick’s Festival climaxed on Monday March 17th with a Heritage Day Fair/Slave Feast at Salem Centre.

The celebrations also featured the inaugural National Honours and Awards Ceremony and the traditional activities such as the annual Junior Calypso Competition, Freedom Run, UWI-St. Patrick’s Lecture, among others.

Mr Cassell says he is pleased with the attendance at the events.

He views the National Honours and Awards as a special and very significant element to the St. Patrick’s Festival.
