The Ministry of Health and Social Services is organizing a Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD’s) Forum and a Physical Fitness Jamboree in celebration of Caribbean Wellness Day.
Caribbean Wellness Day will be observed this year on Saturday September 8th.
The Forum which will take a multi-sectoral approach to combat the challenges faced with NCD’s, such as Diabetes and hypertension is planned for Wednesday September 12.
Then on Saturday September 15 the Physical Fitness Jamboree will be held at the Little Bay Playing Field under the theme ‘Getting Fit for Festival Fifty!’
However, the Ministry of Health and Social Services will be conducting a number of activities leading up to the Caribbean Wellness Day celebrations.
The first activity was a hike from bottomless Ghaut through the Furlonge Estate Trail on Monday August 6th starting at 6 in the morning.
There will be Aerobics Exercises on August 14, Dancercise on Wednesday August 22nd and then again on Tuesday September 11, a walk around the new town on Thursday August 30th and beach activities on Monday September 3rd.
