The Ministry of Agriculture has banned the importation of bananas and plantains from Dominica. Acting Director of Agriculture Claude Browne says this is due to the presence of the Black Sigatoka disease in that country which mainly affects banana plants.
Mister Browne says a ban has also been imposed on the heliconia flower.
