Montserrat participating in Regional Seminar on Trade and Dev’t

BRADES, Montserrat – Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Premier Mrs. Beverley Mendes and Trade Director Claude E.S. Hogan are this week representing Montserrat at the Regional Seminar on Trade and Development for Caribbean Countries in Trinidad & Tobago.
The World Trade Organization Secretariat (WTO), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), through the Institute for the Integration of Latin America and the Caribbean (INTAL) and the Integration and Trade Sector (INT), and the CARICOM Secretariat, are collaborating on the three-day seminar being held in Port of Spain, Trinidad, November, 21-23, 2011.
According to a statement from the Office of the Premier, “the objective of this training activity is to facilitate the more effective participation of developing countries in the work of the World Trade Organization, allow participants to obtain a better understanding of the development dimension of the Doha Work Program, as well as the Aid for Trade Initiative.”
The workshop is targeted at external affairs, trade, finance, and development practitioners and will include presentations from various Caribbean officials
IDB/INTAL is financing the participation of all officials. The Workshop is closed to the general public.
